Information Security Analyst III 19-039

As a growing Department of Defense Contractor, AUSGAR Technologies has an exciting NEW OPPORTUNITY for a Information Security Analyst III.

Job Description:

Information Security Analyst III under general supervision completes tasks designed to ensure security of the organization's classified and unclassified networks and information systems to protect against unauthorized access, modification or destruction. Monitors the development of IT security policies and standards and works with other divisions to gain an in-depth understanding of network architectures and system configurations.

Total Years of Related Experience for Position: 4 to 7 years of related experience.

Educational Requirement:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline or the equivalent combination of education, professional training or work experience.

Required Experience:

  • In-depth knowledge of firewall (packet filtering, application level gateway, next-generation) configurations
  • Monitor and analyze Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS) to identify security issues for remediation and reporting
  • Recognize potential, successful and unsuccessful intrusion attempts and compromises through reviews and analysis of relevant event detail and summary information.
  • Identify and develop mitigation strategies for cybersecurity threats and security vulnerabilities
  • Evaluate configuration changes and their impact to the security posture of the enterprise
  • Identify, alert and report events regarding intrusions and compromises to the network infrastructure, applications and operating systems.
  • Analyze Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) and Security Content Automation Protocol (SCAP)
  • Assess Risk Management Framework (RMF) NIST 800-53 R4 Information Assurance Controls
  • Assess and assist with implementation of countermeasures or mitigating controls
  • Ensure the integrity and protection of networks, systems and applications by technical enforcement of Enterprise security policies, through monitoring and analysis of vulnerability scans and system log information
  • Perform periodic and on-demand system audits and vulnerability assessments, including user accounts, application access, file system and external Web integrity scans to determine compliance
  • Prepare incident reports of analysis methodology and results
  • Provide guidance and work leadership to less-experienced technical staff members
  • Interpret results from network/server/application scanning tools such as Tenable Nessus
  • Interpret emerging security, governance and continuous monitoring policies
  • Articulate cybersecurity risk to senior leadership and provide recommendations for remediation/risk acceptance
  • Develop and/or support the successful development of cybersecurity processes and procedures 

Job Requirement:

  • Required:
    • CompTIA Security+CE
    • Active Top Secret Clearance
    • Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) - Within 6 months. Failure to obtain will result in termination.
    • Certified Network Defense Architecture (CNDA) - Within 6 months. Failure to obtain will result in termination.
    • Security Incident Event Management
    • 5% travel or less 
  • Desired:
    • CISSP or other similar information security certification
    • Active Top Secret Clearance

An essential qualification for this position is successfully obtaining a Secret security clearance issued by the Federal Government, which may require successful completion of a background check.
