Network Engineer IV 18-016

Job Description:

As a growing Department of Defense Contractor, AUSGAR Technologies is expanding its workforce and has a NEW OPENING for a Network Engineer IV.

Provide senior level network and system engineering support for the program.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Perform engineering and project management, requirements development, system and network design, COTS product evaluation, cost analysis and estimation, procurement, pre-installation development and testing, systems installation and integration, with full integrated logistics support to include configuration management, documentation, and training for Navy approved network and communications projects.
  • As a member of the Cyber Security Workforce, is a subject matter expert, providing consultation and guidance to Information Security for implementation of STIGs, and continued development and remediation of both classified and unclassified, wired and wireless, mission critical Naval Combat Training environments.
  • Plans, proposes and implements modifications, modernizations, improvements and upgrades of communications equipment, range reconfigurations and new facility buildups.
  • Supports equipment relocation to include cost analysis, optimization studies, engineering studies, integration and installation for changes in the network environment.
  • Analyze network requirements to plan for projected bandwidth loading of new systems or modifications to existing systems.
  • Support mission critical range communications to include engineering, installation, and integration of servers, network appliances, and communications equipment as necessary to meet present and future communication requirements.
  • Prepare, deliver, and submit technical papers and perform engineering studies.
  • Develop and apply advanced methods, and analytical techniques in research, investigation and solution of complex problems.
  • Work closely with Configuration Manager and Drafters to create and maintain network and configuration documentation using MS Office, Adobe Acrobat, Visio and/or AutoCAD.
  • Supports the Configuration Management (CM) program as a member of the Configuration Management Board (CCB) to include the evaluation of all modifications to communications equipment, the generation of Engineering Change Request to improve interoperability, reliability, and maintainability, documented under CM standards in the Integrated Information Management System.

 

Total Years of Related Experience for Position:  5+ years of Network Engineering experience

 

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Computer Science related field.
  • Advanced degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering preferred.
  • Certifications: Network +, Security +, Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), Certified Systems Administrator (CSA).
  • Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE), Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA), or Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP) preferred.
  • May require current COMSEC certification.
  • LAN/WAN design and implementation using Cisco routers, switches, firewalls, and IDS.
  • SolarWinds Network Management Systems.
  • Project management, systems integration, and configuration management.
  • In depth knowledge of TCP/IP, EIGRP, OSPF, BGP, IPV4, IPV6.
  • Proven experience designing and configuring WAN infrastructure consisting of multiple T1 and T3 lines, and fiber optic links.
  • Testing and monitoring Cisco Systems, switched networks, dedicated fiber, and Aviat microwave data links.
  • Advanced Network Troubleshooting with Data Links and DISA provided WAN transport architectures.
  • Network and Server Monitoring tools and administration of Window, Unix/Linux Operating Systems.
  • Previous experiencing supporting Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, group policy and RAS.
  • Experience installing, configuring and supporting VMWare vSphere/ESX, Windows Server 2008 & 2012 and SQL.
  • Experience configuring multiple-layer Cisco based firewalls, based on STIG requirements and security best practices.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of LAN and WAN technologies including traditional 802.3 wired and 802.11 wireless Ethernet as well as carrier Ethernet services, MPLS, Broadband Cable/DSL, as well as PPP, Frame-Relay, and ISDN PRI.
  • Experience in configuring TACLANE, Cisco Systems, Microwave data links, and wireless mesh, fiber optics and data storage systems (SAN/ NAS DAS).
  • Must obtain and maintain current CPR/First Aid certification.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Some travel required (25%).
  • Active Secret Clearance required.

 

 

An essential qualification for this position is successfully obtaining a Secret security clearance issued by the Federal Government, which may require successful completion of a background check.
