Cybersecurity Engineer II 18-022

Job Description:

As a growing Department of Defense Contractor, AUSGAR Technologies is expanding its workforce and has an opening for a Cybersecurity Engineer II.


The Cybersecurity Engineer will provide Independent Security Verification and Validation (IV&V) of the Security Configuration of multiple Commercial Medical devices.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Responsible for conducting security assessments with ACAS, SCAP and DISA Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIGs) on Medical devices to support Certification and Accreditation.
  • Develop Security Assessment Reports and conduct Analysis on the security test results.
  • Input security vulnerabilities into developer tracking system.
  • Work with Medical Device software engineers to recommend solutions for resolving vulnerabilities.
  • Attend meetings with developers and internal team in support of Certification and Accreditation (C&A).


Total Years of Related Experience for Position:  5+ years of related IT experience.  2+ years of Cybersecurity experience.


Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree (or four years of related work experience).
  • Current CompTIA Security+ certification or other DoD 8570.1 IAT/IAM Level II certification.
  • Strong experience conducting security assessments on government systems.
  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Operating Systems.
  • Some working knowledge of MS SQL server and networking devices.
  • Solid analytical skills to troubleshoot high-level, complex, technical problems.
  • Knowledge of network and host security assessment tools, vulnerability analysis and internal auditing processes.
  • Familiarity with DoD and NIST security policies.
  • Ability to work with a team.
  • Excellent verbal and writing skills.
  • Some travel required (less than 10%).
  • Ability to obtain US Secret clearance or active Secret clearance.


An essential qualification for this position is successfully obtaining a Secret security clearance issued by the Federal Government, which may require successful completion of a background check.
